Macao University of Tourism (UTM) welcomed the Asian Business Aviation Association (AsBAA) for an “AsBAA Discovery” guest lecture delivered to a postgraduate class focusing on business aviation development on Thursday, 26 March.

Under the theme “Exploring Business Aviation: Progress and Challenges,” the lecture examined how general aviation and business aviation are advancing in parallel, with a particular focus on the emerging low-altitude economy and its growing role in the wider aviation ecosystem. The session was led by AsBAA Vice Chairman, Mr. Rocky Zhang (Textron Group China), alongside senior executives from AsBAA corporate members, including Mr. Alex Jiao (Hongkong Jet) and Mr. Yanping Du (Amber Aviation), who also contributed to the discussion.

UTM students participated enthusiastically, engaging in an in-depth Q&A and gaining first-hand insights from business aviation industry leaders. Lecture host Dr. Joe Yong Zhou highlighted the strong post-event feedback from students, noting that the session significantly deepened their understanding of business aviation development, real-world operational and regulatory challenges, and the interconnected growth of general aviation, business aviation, and the low-altitude economy.

This AsBAA Discovery initiative continues to build a bridge between industry and academia, inspiring the next generation of aviation professionals and strengthening regional talent development in business aviation.
